Factors Affecting the Price of PCBA Processing

In the era of rapid development of electronic technology, the market demand for PCBA continues to rise, and industry competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Price wars have always been an important means of commercial competition. Today, As a SMT factory, Ronghua will introduce the factors that affect PCB prices.

The main factors affecting the price of PCBA are as follows:

  1. PCBA processing uses different materials, such as ordinary double plates such as FR-4, CEM-3, etc., with plate thicknesses ranging from 0.2 mm to 5.0 mm and copper thicknesses ranging from 0.05 oz to 3 oz, which can also cause price differences. In terms of solder resistant ink, ordinary thermosetting oil and photosensitizers also have price differences.

  2. The processing and production processes of PCBA are different. PCBA boards have various production processes, such as gold-plated and tin coated boards using screen printed circuits and dry film circuits, processed (ground) boards, and beer (punched) boards, and the costs of different production processes also vary.

  3. The difficulty of PCBA processing printed circuit boards varies, and the printed circuit board itself is also very difficult. The greater the difficulty, the higher the cost. If there are 1000 holes on two printed circuit boards and one board has a hole diameter greater than 0.6mm, then the other board has a hole diameter less than 0.6mm, it will result in different drilling costs. If two printed circuit boards are the same, it will result in different drilling costs. The line width and spacing are different, one is greater than 0.2 mm and the other is less than 0.2 mm, which will also lead to different production costs because the scrap rate of difficult to handle PCBA is high, so the cost will be higher.

  4. PCBA processing has different requirements from customers. Due to the different requirements of each customer for printed circuit boards, production costs also vary, and the level of customer requirements directly affects the yield of the circuit board factory.

  5. PCBA processes different manufacturers. Printed circuit board manufacturers have different production equipment, processes, and technologies, so even the same product will have different costs. For example, in order to reduce costs and accelerate production speed, some manufacturers will produce tinplate with lower production costs and simple processes. During the processing, although some manufacturers will produce gold-plated plates, the amount of waste will increase, resulting in increased costs.
